POLICE searching for missing teenager Benjamin Manning have recovered a body from the River Calder in Wakefield.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police – who launched a massive search operation to find the 17-year-old Allerton Bywater Brigshaw High School pupil when he failed to return home form a night out in Wakefield on January 21 – said the teenager’s family had been informed.
A spokeswoman said: “Police can confirm that the body of man has been recovered from the River Calder at Thornes Lane Wharfe in Wakefield at lunchtime.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place however the family of Ben Manning, reported missing in Wakefield, have been informed.
“The coroner’s officer has also been informed and inquiries are ongoing”.
