BOXING fans can meet legendary fighter Sugar Ray Leonard when he visits Featherstone next month.

The seven-times world champion will appear at Featherstone Rovers to recount his adventures in and out of the ring and meet fans.

The event has been organised by Tony Dunn, of Sports Media Promotions, who has also brought Mike Tyson and Ricky Hatton to the area.

Sugar Ray Leonard, 56, won titles across five weight divisions and took Olympic gold in light welterweight at the 1976 Montreal games, winning 36 of 40 professional bouts and since retiring from the ring has become an occasional actor and top motivational speaker.

He will be at Featherstone Rovers on Wednesday September 30 at 7.30pm, where there will also be a raffle and boxing memoriabilia auction.

Tickets cost £60, which include the chance to have your picture taken with Sugar Ray and food, available from Tony Dunn on 07912 983671.
