Dennis the Menace and Gnasher were causing mischief at the launch of a pub’s new play area in Knottingley last week.

Around 20 local families were invited along to the Turnpike Brewers Fayre, on the A1 Business Park, to meet the life-sized pair and to enjoy a variety of activities such as free face painting and crafts.

The event was organised to mark the opening of the Beano-themed Play At Brewers Fayre area, which includes a new toddler zone and an adventure tree house play area.

The pub also has a new family dining area, a party room for children’s birthday parties and an exclusive children’s Beano menu with favourites such as the Menace burger and spaghetti Beano-ese.

Christopher Beal, general manager, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to have launched our new ‘Play At Brewers Fayre’ area.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming more families through our doors to enjoy the new facilities, which are also perfect for kids parties.”

The play zone is open from 9.30am to 8pm from Sunday to Thursday and from 9.30am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

It costs £3 for 90 minutes of play.
