A gym company is inviting people to take part in a 70-day squat challenge to raise cash for charity.
Xercise4Less, which has a gym at Xscape in Glasshoughton, hopes to raise £1,000 for Shine, a charity which raises awareness of the disabling conditions spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Gym members and non-members are invited to post videos and photos of themselves taking part in the challenge on the gym’s Facebook page. The company, which has 19 UK gyms, will donate £1 for each Facebook post.
Xercise4Less property director Nikolaj Dockree, whose son suffers from hydrocephalus, launched the fundraiser.
He said: “We thought a squat challenge would be a fun way to raise money and it’s really easy for everyone to get involved with.”
