Teachers and staff were at the mercy of their pupils when a Castleford school held a fun in celebration of their recent Ofsted success.
Airedale Junior School were told by the education watchdog last week that they were being removed from special measures after improving teaching standards.
The Stansfield Road school celebrated the good news with an end-of-term party, which saw teachers smothered in shaving foam and drenched with buckets of water.
Andrea Lund, business manager of the school, said: “This was a celebration of all the hard work the children, parents and parents have put in over the 12 months.
“The day was fantastic and helped raise money for the school too. The atmosphere was smashing.”
The school, which is now graded as “requires improvement”, hosted a number of activities on the day, including welly throwing, a penalty shoot out and a visit from the ice cream man.
