Members of her family helped Pontefract woman Annie Hill celebrate her 105th birthday last week, along with a card from the Queen.
Staff at Priory Gardens care home in Pontefract put on a day-long party for Annie, who was born at Sessions House Yard on October 3, 1908.
She was one of nine children and lived most of her life at St Oswald Avenue, until moving to the home.
Annie started work at a bakery on Sessions House Yard, but spent the rest of her working life at Dunhills. Her niece Emeline Beaumont said Annie had never married and credited her long life to a tot of whisky every morning.
She added: “We want to thank Nicola Harrison at Priory Gardens for arranging her birthday party.
“There were people coming in all day to see her and her bedroom looks like Kew Gardens. She said she had a lovely day.”
