The weather didn’t dampen the spirits of those who attended the Friends of Pease Park Gala in Pontefract at the weekend.
Despite torrential rain, residents turned out to support the event which raises money for the upkeep of the park.
Visitors had the chance to try archery, laser quest and obstacle courses, and there was a bouncy castle, slide and rides for the children.
The gala also featured a variety of stalls, including those selling jams, sweets and teddy bears.
Pete Tough, who organised the event, said: “A big thank you to everyone who came despite the weather. I understand why people didn’t turn up, it was a complete wash out.
“It takes months of planning but we just can’t plan the weather.
“Hopefully in the future we can have another one which will be more successful.”
