Police want to trace the driver of a car which hit a 35-year-old pedestrian.

The man was struck by a black Ford Galaxy car on Park Hill Crescent, Eastmoor, at around 7.30pm on Thursday.

The driver took the man home thinking his injuries were minor but they did not exchange details.

Police are now appealing for the driver and any witnesses to contact them.

Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team Con Nick Untisz said: “As a result of the collision the pedestrian suffered a broken hip and is continuing to receive treatment.

“I am keen to trace the driver involved in this incident or speak to any witnesses who may have seen the collision.

“At this time I have no reason to believe anything untoward has happened here but would ask the driver to make contact with us.’’

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 and quote the crime number 1311.
