AIREDALE dad Richard Marshall has donated toys to the hospital that cared for his son when he had meningitis.
Mr Marshall, of Kershaw Avenue, was so impressed with the treatment his four-year-old son Aiden received from Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield in October, he appealed to Five Towns’ residents for donations of toys, board games and DVDs.
He said: “Aiden was very ill while in hospital and the only thing that kept him going was being able to play with the toys from the play room.
“So we decided to try and give something back to the hospital. We collected the toys together so in future children will get the same boost from playing with these toys that Aiden did.”
Mr Marshall took the toys to the hospital playroom last week, along with a letter containing the names of residents who made donations.
He intends to continue collecting toys for the hospital, to make a donation email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07905 666373.
