Pharmacy opening times over the Easter Holidays have been announced.

Boots, on Beastfair, Pontefract, will be open from 9am-6pm on Good Friday and from 10am-4pm on Easter Monday.

The Boots store on Barnsley Road, South Elmsall, will be open from 9am-5.30pm on Friday.

Tesco, on Market Street, Hemsworth, will be open from 6.30am-10.30pm on Friday and 9am-6pm on Monday. Asda, on Leeds Road, Glasshouhgton, will be open from 9am-6pm on Friday and Monday.

Boots, at Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre in Castleford, will be open from 9am-5.30pm on Good Friday.

Airedale Pharmacy, on Elizabeth Drive, Airedale, will be open from 9am-11am on Sunday.

Hughes Chemist, at Rycroft Primary Care Centre on Madeley Road, will be open from 9am-11am on Sunday.

People are being reminded to stock on up on medicines and repeat prescriptions before Easter, when most pharmacies will be closed. Dr Phil Earnshaw, chairman of NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “If you are taking regular medicines, making sure you have enough to last over the holidays by getting organised with your repeat prescriptions is essential.

“This could prevent you becoming ill or even avert a medical emergency. A well-stocked medicine cupboard is essential, especially over holiday times.

“People should pop into their local pharmacies and ask for advice about essential items.”
