A group of friends will take to the streets of Hull this weekend in a bid to raise cash for charities across the district.
Andy Sharp, Wayne Towell, Wayne Hennessey and Mick Wilby will all take on the Humber Bridge Half Marathon on Sunday for their respective charities.
Mr Sharp, 39, and Mr Wilby, 46, will run to raise funds for Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice, while Mr Towell, 39, is raising funds for Wakefield Hospice and Mr Hennessey, 45, will raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
Mr Sharp said: “We decided last November time that we were going to do something for charity.
“I found training really hard at the start but I am feeling a little bit more confident about it now.”
Mr Sharp is running in memory of his mum Irene, who was cared for at the hospice before she died in May 2000.
Mr Towell is running in memory of his mum and grandmother and Mr Wilby is running in memory of his friend Percy Moon.
The group have raised around £3,000 for the three charities so far and thanked everyone for their donations.
