Homegrown rockers Glass Caves will be beaming into cars, kitchens and workplaces all over the country next week when a track from their debut EP airs on Radio One.
The five piece band will celebrate the release of their self-titled four-track record tomorrow, with stand-out song “I Knew It” being played by the likes of BBC DJs Huw Stephens, Sara Cox, and Scott Mills every day next week.
Drummer, Elliot Fletcher, said the band is thrilled to feature on the broadcaster’s flagship pop station.
He said: “We’re all excited. We have been working very hard on the band so it’s great that it’s paying off. We all listen to Radio One so it’s great to be on a station we listen to all the time, and hopefully it will generate a lot of interest for us.”
Band members Elliot, Connor Thorpe, Will Groves, Matthew Hallas – all 22 – and Tom Skinner, 21, caught the attention of the station after being featured on the BBC Introducing show and the regional Leeds and York stations.
In addition to receiving daily airplay from Monday, the band will also feature on Radio One’s website throughout the week.
