Love bloomed young for a Featherstone couple who celebrate their golden wedding this week, after they met at Pontefract fair aged just 12 and 15.
Moira and Keith Taylor, of Priory Road, got engaged when Moira was 15 and married when she was 17, at Pontefract Register Office on September 28 1963. They have one son and two grandchildren.
Keith, 70, worked at Prince of Wales Colliery for 27 years, while Moira Worked at RV Rug in Featherstone for 30 years. They then spent the rest of their working lives at the Junction pub in Featherstone, which was run by Moira’s brother, until they retired last year. They are planning to celebrate their anniversary with a meal.
