IN response to the letter (Express, June 9) suggesting that swimming pools seem dirty, can I reassure all your readers that the council makes every effort to keep all its pools and leisure facilities clean and to a high hygienic standard.
We were already dealing with drain problems at Knottingley prior to any complaints and are working to resolve this issue as quickly as we can.
We treat all comments and complaints about our facilities very seriously and our staff do their best to keep all things up to scratch – but we do need the co-operation of the public both in keeping places clean and tidy and in bringing problems to our attention.
We understand the importance of cleanliness in sports facilities to users of all ages. By working together we can make sure that our pools and sports centres are not only well-used but well looked after.
