Staff at Wentbridge House Hotel have won a top award for their customer service.
The hotel was awarded the outstanding customer service accolade at the annual White Rose tourism awards hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire.
It beat competition from six other finalists in the category, including York Maze, Sheffield Theatres, Coniston Hotel in Skipton, Best Western Crown Hotel in Boroughbridge, Holiday Inn in York and Swinton Park Hotel in Ripon.
Hotel director James Page said: “Customer service at its very best is one of our biggest passions and we have built a thoughtful team where excellent, friendly service is our ethos.
“To be recognised for this at the highest level by Welcome to Yorkshire is something we’re all incredibly proud of.”
Almost 1,000 people, including celebrity guests attended the awards evening at Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate last week.
Winners were announced across 16 categories ranging from large visitor attraction to Yorkshire restaurant of the year.
Professor Colin Mellors, independent chairman of judges, said: “It’s always a genuine pleasure to see the delight on the faces of the winners as these awards mean so much to tourism businesses.
“Competition is fierce and every year our job as independent judges gets harder – and that’s real testament to these businesses.”
