A MINER who died when a roof collapsed at Kellingley Colliery on Tuesday has been named.
Site managers, UK Coal, confirmed the miner was dad-of-two Gerry Gibson, 49, of North Yorkshire.
Chris Crouch, spokesman for the company, said the “highly skilled” worker had been in the industry since 1979.
He confirmed the company had no plans to release personal details of the second miner who survived the tragedy.
