Annual My Day Gala takes place in Thornes Park

The annual Thornes Park May Day Gala returns on Monday, May 2, with falconry displays, donkey rides and motor stunts.

There will also be live music, cheerleaders, American police vehicles, fairground rides, and food, drink and craft stalls will also feature at the free event in Clarence Park Arena.

The Wakefield Motorcycle Action Group will be joining in with festivities alongside many cartoon characters.

Stalls, bouncy castles, sweets and candy floss and face painting will also be on offer. The gala runs from 10am until 5pm.

The free event attracts large crowds every year.
