A Castleford care worker has won an award in the regional finals of the Yorkshire and Humberside Great British Care Awards.
Jenny Flowers, a care assistant at Newfield Lodge Care Home on Brookfield Avenue, won the Dignity in Care Award at a gala dinner at the National Railway Museum in York.
Jenny was nominated by her colleagues for the award, and was interviewed by a panel of judges, who called her a “sparkling example of good care in practice”. She will now attend the national finals in London early next year.
Her colleague Chris Beech, chef at the home, was also a finalist for the Nutrition and Hydration Award. The pair are pictured together with their awards.
Jennie Wright, home manager, said: “We are all extremely proud of Jenny and Chris. It is a testament to their hard work and dedication, which contributes to making Newfield Lodge a great place to live.”
