Officers carried out a number of vehicle checks in Castleford as part of a national initiative to crack down on illegal waste and scrap metal trading.
The Castleford and Normanton neighbourhood police team (NPT) joined forces with partner agencies such as VOSA and Licensing on Wednesday, May 21.
The operation, led by PCs Rob Wilks and Dave Senior, saw 32 vehicles stopped on Lock Lane.
One immediate prohibition, five delayed prohibitions and three fixed penalty notices were issued and two people were reported for scrap metal trading without the appropriate waste licence. One vehicle had its load of illegally-collected scrap metal seized.
Anyone with information about illegal waste and scrap metal trading should call the NPT on 101.
