Residents are being urged to check they are registered to vote ahead of local and European Parliamentary elections later this year.
The elections will take place on Thursday May 22 and Wakefield Council has reminded residents to check they are registered to vote before the deadline of Tuesday, May 6.
Joanne Roney, the council’s returning officer, said: “People are talking about the elections but you’ll only be able to have your say on who represents you in the European Parliament and Wakefield Council if you’re correctly registered.
“Registering is quick and simple.”
