Final preparations are being made for this year’s Party in the Park at Hundhill Hall which takes place later this month.
The annual event, on Saturday, August 30, will raise money for Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice and the Dogs for the Disabled charity.
It will feature live music, a display from Castleford Tigers’ cheerleaders Castleford Claws as well as rides and shows.
Karen Bullock, a committee member of event organisers Team Hundhill, said: “It is a huge community event and it brings the whole area together.
“We had already chosen the two charities before the floods at the hospice but that’s even more reason to help out.”
Organisers hope to raise around £5,000 of which two thirds will go to the Halfpenny Lane hospice and one third to the Dogs for the Disabled charity, based at Nostell Priory.
The event will start at 2pm and entry costs £5 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family ticket.
