Plans to regenerate Featherstone are expected to move a step nearer when they are discussed by council bosses.
Wakefield Council’s cabinet will discuss the Featherstone Delivery Plan 2014-2017 at a meeting next week.
The proposals include improvements to the town’s railway station and the completion of the new Green Lane link road.
Coun Denise Jeffery, cabinet member for regeneration and growth, said: “The Featherstone Delivery Plan will bring significant regeneration to Featherstone, providing a plan to secure development and infrastructure improvements and support new housing developments while ensuring economic, social and environmental issues are considered.
“The plan shows our commitment to invest in the future of the district despite on-going financial pressures and has taken into account the feedback from key stakeholders, businesses and residents.”
The cabinet are recommended to give approval for council officers to run the scheme.
