Ledsham author June Brunt has written a new book remembering Lady Elizabeth Hastings’ links with the village.
In 1982 Mrs Brunt, 84, organised a year of celebrations in the village to mark the 300th anniversary of Lady Elizabeth’s birth.
Mrs Brunt said: “I was very interested in Lady Elizabeth and I realised that 1982 would be 300 years since she was born and I thought we should celebrate that.
“So I organised different events every month and this book relives everything that happened that year.
“I thought she was a wonderful woman and I wanted to know a lot more about her.”
Mrs Brunt’s book, 1982: A special year in Ledsham Parish, will be first available at Ledsham Fair this weekend and costs £10.
It contains colour photographs from the events held during the year along with a report on each event.
Ledsham Fair runs from 11am to 4pm on Saturday.
