A nurse lived the high life after stealing more than £127,000 from her dementia sufferer mother’s bank account, a court heard.
Helen Brook stole £127,878 from the account while her stricken mother Nancy Maeer was being treated in a care home.
Wakefield and Pontefract Magistrates’ Court heard Brook, 39, of Pollards Field, Knottingley, spent £20,000 of the cash on a Mercedes 4X4.
Prosecutor Richard Ogden said police became involved after some fees at Mrs Maeer’s home were not paid.
Brook admitted stealing £127,878 from her mother, Nancy Maeer, between April 2010 and September 2013.
Mitigating, Rob Fones said his client, who has no previous convictions, suffers from depression.
Brook was granted unconditional bail ahead of sentencing later this month.
