Motorists can expect delays during the next month as Wakefield Council resurfaces the district’s roads.

The work will begin on Monday, August 18 and will last until the second week of September.

Coun David Dagger, Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways said: “We want roads across our district to be of a high standard and the start of our resurfacing programme echoes this.

“We want residents to be aware that there will be some inevitable short term delays during these essential works and urge everyone to set off in plenty of time to reach their desired destination.

“There will be some temporary posted speed limits and we are encouraging drivers to avoid fierce acceleration and braking to prevent damage to the new surface.”
