Toddlers, staff and teachers at a Featherstone nursery are celebrating after being praised in a recent Ofsted report.
Oakhill Day Nursery has been rated ‘good’ following its Ofsted inspection in November - the nursery’s first inspection since it was taken over by new management.
The report praised the staff’s support of children.
Dawn Lumb, Ofsted inspector, said: “Children make good progress in their learning and development.
“They benefit from a wide range of purposeful activities, which supports their learning in all areas.”
The nursery, which has around 30 pupils, was taken over by new managers after Wakefield Council cut funding last year.
Dawn McGregor-Vaughan, nursery manager, said: “We are really proud of the inspection result because it shows we’re continuing to make improvements.
“Numbers are increasing which is really good for us and I think the Ofsted report has helped with that too.”
