Police appeal for Pontefract crash witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Pontefract.

Officers from the southern area roads policing unit are trying to trace anyone who saw the incident, at the junction of Wakefield Road and Westbourne Avenue at around 2.35pm on Tuesday, April 1.

The injured biker was riding a blue Honda motorcycle along Wakefield Road towards Wakefield when it was in collision with a black Ford Focus that was pulling onto Wakefield Road from Westbourne Avenue.

The male biker needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

Serg Neil Haley said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the actual collision or the movements and manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the incident.
