Scout leaders hope a revamp of their headquarters in Pontefract will lead to the building being used by other community groups.
1st Pontefract Scouts have given their Bondgate home a facelift after it fell into disrepair.
The group has decided to open up the building to other community associations to use for events and meetings.
James Purcell, scout leader, said: “We’ve got our own dedicated building which is quite rare for scouting but it’s been there for years so it just needed a bit of love and care.
“We’ve redecorated and tidied up the area at the back and it looks really nice.
“But there’s no point having a community building sit ting empty for most of the day.
“We want people to come forward and use it. We’re not doing this for money. It’s just about the community working together.”
