Featherstone Rovers have given Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice a boost by naming it as the club’s charity of the year.
Rovers players will wear the hospice logo on their shirts for the new season. It is hoped the partnership will raise a record amount for the care centre.
Darren Payne, Rovers’ operations manager, said: “The hospice does unbelievable work and the staff are incredible.
“I have been involved with the hospice for a few years now and have seen firsthand the effort that goes into it and everyone there is brilliant at what they do.”
Rovers will be allowing the hospice free access to facilities at its Post Office Road ground for fundraising events.
