Sunshine, fairground rides and a love for racing saw thousands of people flock to Pontefract Racecourse Family Fun Day.
Organisers say around 11,000 people attended the venue for the event on Sunday, which was also the final fixture of the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival.
Norman Gundill, racecourse manager, said: “The event was superb. It went very well. It was a lovely day, we had a little bit of rain overnight but on the day itself it was a bit fresher and stayed dry.
“We have three Sundays a year which we dub as family days and there’s always a terrific atmosphere.
“We also have some of the best races on our family days and we had some really tight finishes on Sunday. It was a really good day.”
