Amateur bodybuilder Stuart Smith will flex his muscles at a top international event next year.
The dad-of-two, of Kipling Grove, Pontefract, will compete in the National Amateur Bodybuilding Association (NABBA) world championships next year after finishing sixth at the Mr Universe event last weekend.
He reached the finals after finishing second in his class at in NABBA’s north east regional heat - the first time he had ever taken part in a competition.
He then went on to become Mr Britain in May to qualify for Mr Universe in Southport on Saturday.
Mr Smith, 32, was the only British bodybuilder in his class at the event.
He said: “I never expected to do so well to be honest. I am really enjoying it and I would just like to thank everyone for their support.”
