People are being invited to submit their views on plans for a new £135m development in Glass Houghton – including a new stadium for Castleford Tigers.
Lateral Property Group announced its intention to build a food store, petrol station, high-quality shops, the stadium and a country park on land just off the M62 at junction 32 earlier this year.
Now the firm has set up a website where people can leave their views on the proposals before a planning application is submitted to Wakefield Council.
More than 1,000 people viewed the proposals – which would create up to 2,000 jobs – at a number of consultation events across the area last month.
The development – called Five Towns Park – would be on land between Stainburn Avenue and Spittal Harwick Lane.
Phillip Lunn, managing director of Lateral Property Group, said: “Since we started consulting on the plans for Five Towns Park back in April, we have had more than 1,000 responses from the community.
“Consultation is still ongoing and we are keen to get as much feedback as possible from the community.
“Anyone wishing to comment on the proposals can do so through our dedicated website, www.castlefordyoursay.co.uk.
“All feedback is being considered and changes will be made to the plans wherever possible.
“This is an important development for the Five Towns, providing a high quality retail development, 50 acre country park, major private sector investment into the local highways and a new 10,000 capacity stadium for Castleford Tigers.
“Overall the development could create around 2,000 new jobs at the site.
“A planning application will be submitted in due course.”
