Ackworth School pupils Lloyd Barlow and Henry Atkin are celebrating after being crowned regional tennis champions.
Lloyd, 16, and Henry, 15, won the under-16 North England Tennis Championships at their first attempt.
The pair won eight out of nine games on their way to glory at the tournament held at Ampleforth College, near York.
Andrea Thomas, Ackworth School’s head of sport, said: “To be crowned North of England under-16 champions is an amazing result for Lloyd and Henry.
“In amongst revising for public exams this is an outstanding achievement.
“It is a credit to both students who showed outstanding organisation, maturity, rehydrating and eating at appropriate times and a determination to do themselves and Ackworth School proud.”
The youngsters saw off competition from schools in Manchester, Bradford and Stockton-on-Tees before taking on Yarm in the final.
The duo raced into a 2-0 lead before Yarm won three straight games to take the lead 3-2.
The Ackworth teenagers then went on to victory with four successive games to win the match 6-3.
Ms Thomas added: “Lloyd and Henry pulled out some magnificent shots to win the final 6-3.
“It was an amazing day’s tennis and the boys should be very proud of themselves.”
