Wakefield Council invites developers to build 300 homes in Lupset

Three hundreds homes could be built in Lupset on land which is being marketed to potential developers.

Property company CRBE Leeds is inviting builders to develop the 20-acre site off Milton Road on behalf of Wakefield Council.

The site has been allocated for housing in the council’s Local Development Framework, a blueprint for where future homes could be built.

CRBE said: “The undeveloped greenfield land is accessed off Milton Road in Snapethorpe, around 1.5 miles from both the centre of Wakefield and the M1 motorway.

“Due to its suburban location, the majority of the 20 acre site has been allocated for housing within the Local Development Framework and has the potential for 300 homes or alternative uses.”

Offers were being invited to develop the land subject to planning permission being secured, CRBE said.

It’s director Mike Gorman added: “This extensive site occupies a strategic position close to local amenities and schools and has the potential to deliver much-needed new residential accommodation to this area of Wakefield.

“The unlocking of this site for future development represents an excellent opportunity for developers seeking to undertake a large-scale scheme to make a positive contribution to the local community.”
