Cash grant helps community garden

A community garden has been given a £500 boost with a grant from Leeds City Council. The Growing Zone at Kippax will use the money to buy materials for its work with teenagers, who attend placements to learn skills including gardening and carpentry.

Eight canaries have been stolen from a garden aviary in Methley in what police believe was a targeted attack.
