Sgt Jordan Revis from Knottingley Squadron

An air cadet from Knottingley was flying high after a solo flight in a glider.

Jordan Revis, 17, achieved his silver wings earlier this month meaning he can now fly gliders on his own.

Jordan is a cadet at the rank of flight sergeant with the 2446 Knottingley Squadron, which meets at the town’s De Lacy Academy.

He spent several weekends at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, in North Yorkshire where he flew the Vigilant Motor Glider.

Jordan now plans to apply for a flying scholarship and work towards his private pilots licence.
