Castleford roadworks

ROADWORKS taking place in Castleford will start today (Monday August 20).

Aketon Road is being resurfaced from the junction with Leeds Barnsdale Road to the side of the public baths until August 24.

A road closure will be in place and diversion signs will be on site.

Coun Denise Jeffery, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, said roadworks are taking place across the district as part of the ongoing maintenance programme.

She added: “We apologise to drivers and other road users for any inconvenience caused but these works are necessary to maintain and improve our roads.”
