Chippy celebrates award with special offer

A FISH and chip shop which marked its 25th anniversary earlier this year, has won a prestigious award for its top quality dishes.

Debra Godber and her husband Ian - who run the Blue Ocean Fish bar in Glass Houghton - say they were “delighted” to receive the Seafish Industry quality award at the Front Street shop last month.

Fish and chip lovers can celebrate the award by picking up a buy one get one free voucher in this week’s Pontefract and Castleford Express.

Mrs Godber, 46, said: “We are very proud and it’s all down to our loyal customers and excellent staff taking pride in their work.

“This is our first award after moving to the Glass Houghton shop from Vickers Street five years ago.”
