PONTEFRACT’S NEW College is calling for past pupils and staff to get in touch with their memorials as it prepares to celebrate its 100th  anniversary.

The college, on Park Lane, was previously Pontefract District High School and Park High School, and is holding an anniversary event on Saturday  October 6.

The event will begin at 1pm with a reception and a short talk on the history of the building. There will also be archive material on display and a chance to meet up with former pupils and staff.

Guided tours of the campus will take place at 2pm, followed by a drama performance at 3pm by the college’s current students. The college has set up a Facebook page www.facebook.com/100yearsofnewcollege for people to share their pictures and memories.
