Flood risk raised with heavy rain

HOMES and businesses are braced for more flooding with torrential rain today.

The Environment Agency has issued a flood risk on the River Aire from Stockbridge to Castleford, including Bradford Beck, Oulton Beck and Kippax Beck – no warnings are currently in force on the River Aire in Castleford central or Lock Lane, Allerton Bywater, Methley junction, Barnsdale Road or Fairburn.

However, there is surface water on roads around the Five Towns area.
