Flood warnings issued

FLOOD warnings have been issued in the Five Towns area as torrential rainfall continues.
The Environment Agency has said there’s a flooding risk on the River Calder from Brighouse to Castleford and on the River Aire from Castleford to Stocksbridge, including Bradford Beck, Oulton Beck and Kippax Beck.
Allerton Ings, including the A656 Barnsdale Road between Allerton Bywater and Castleford, is also at risk of flooding.
River levels have reduced overnight, but are forecast to increase again today.
Flood warnings have also been issued at Whitwood Mere, including Methley Road, the Raglan industrial estate, Hunt Street, and along the River View, off Pottery Street. The boatyard and sub station off Jin Whin Hill and Raglan Close is also at risk.
