Met Office warn of snow for Pontefract and Castleford

Snow is predicted to fall across the Five Towns overnight tomorrow (Friday) and into Saturday, the Met Office has warned.

A yellow ‘be aware’ warning has been issued with up to 10cm of snow in some areas, with strong to gale force winds making it feel like -6°C.

The Met Office said that snow would start to fall from around 6am on Friday with more heavier, persistent snow expected overnight and on Saturday morning.

The warning added there could be disruption to travel and roads could become icy.
