Met Office warn of strong winds for Pontefract and Castleford

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for strong winds across the Pontefract and Castleford area tomorrow (Wednesday).

A yellow ‘be aware’ warning said frequent gusts of 40 to 50mph are likely across the Five Towns.

The warning said: “The public should be aware that there is the potential for some minor disruption to travel, particularly for high-sided vehicles.”

Heavy rain showers are also forecast for tomorrow afternoon and there could possibly be gusts of 60mph or more.
