Runners from Castleford will club together later this year to raise money for the Laila Milly Foundation.
Four members of the Sweatshop Running Community, based at Xscape, will tackle long distrance races across the country in a bid to raise more than £2,000 for the Ackworth charity.
The foundation was set up by Laila’s parents Maya, who is a member of the running club, and Steven McCormack after Laila died from a rare genetic disorder a day before her first birthday two years ago.
Runners Steve Berry and his wife Wendy will take part k in the Edinburgh Rock and Roll Half Marathon on April 14.
Fellow club members Keeley Howson and Jez Turner will run the Blackpool Marathon on April 7 as well as the Yorkshire Marathon in October.
Mr Berry, 52, said: “We’ve never done anything like this before. It’s our first half marathon. We did a nine-mile run as part of our training and we are looking forward to it.”
