Schools still closed due to snow and ice

SCHOOLS across the Pontefract and Castleford area are still disrupted due to snow and ice.

The full list of closures and disruptions are as follows:

Cobblers Lane Primary School, Pontefract - nursery closed.

Larks Hill Junior and Infant School, Pontefract - closed.

Mill Dam Junior, Infant and Nursery School, Ackworth, Pontefract - closed.

Redhill Infant School, Airedale, Castleford - open at 10am.

Visit Wakefield Council for a full list and contact details.

Bus and rail services are also disrupted due to the severe weather conditions.

Visit WY Metro for a full list of cancelled and delayed services.

Wakefield Council said that waste collections would take place as normal today and all household recycling sites are open.
