Teenager attacked in ginnel

A TEENAGER was attacked in a Castleford ginnel yesterday (July 5).
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after the 15-year-old girl was dragged into an alley off Pottery Street at around 4.15pm.
Detectives say the incident occurred as the girl was walking home from school.
She was allegedly followed by a man along Wilson Street, Savile Road and Moss Street before being dragged into the side street.
It is believed he was disturbed by some passers-by and ran off.
The victim was taken to hospital to be checked over and is now recovering at home.
The suspect is described white, 16-20 years old and around 5ft 6 – 5ft 8 tall. He had short ginger hair and was wearing black jogging bottoms and a black hooded top.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the offender or who has any other information to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
