Tigers call for town to back red nose appeal

Castleford Tigers’ stars have called on residents in the town to support this year’s Comic Relief appeal.

Tigers’ captain Michael Shenton , pictured above, is backing this year’s Red Nose Day campaign which takes place on March 15.

Mr Shenton said: “I’m showing off my sillier side all in aid of Red Nose Day and I want the people of Castleford to do the same.

“Some of the money you raise this year could be spent on projects right here in Castleford.”

The campaign has seen more than £3.8m spent on 270 projects across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire since last year’s event.

The Comic Relief appeal is now in its 25th year and has raised a total of more than £600m.
