There are no school closures across the Pontefract and Castleford area this morning (Friday).

Snow is continuing to fall across the area and a yellow Met Office ‘be aware’ warning remains in place until tomorrow night.

Forecasters have warned of up to 10cm of snow in some areas, with strong to gale force winds making it feel like -6°C.

There are hazardous driving conditions on the M62 between junction 26 and junction 29 because of the weather.

Rookeries Carleton Junior and Infant School will close at 1.15pm.
