Youngsters play group gets funding boost

Waiting for Video...

A group which offers youngsters with additional needs a respite from the pressures of everyday life has received a generous funding boost.

Parents of Unique Children works with more than 20 youngsters who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and holds weekly sessions at the Big Lottery funded Old Quarry Adventure Playground, in Knottingley.

Former community group the ADHD Group passed on its remaining funds of £2,379.68 to the group after it folded last year.

Michelle Bartram, senior playworker at the playground, said: “This generous donation has had a massive impact on the families involved. This is a very small community where a donation of this kind can have a lasting impact on these children and families.”

For more information on the group or the sessions which it runs contact Mrs Bartram on 01977 670953.
