A TRIO of talented pupils from St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School in Featherstone have snapped up places at the UK’s top university.

Superstar students Eve Hawksworth, Megan Shooter and Evan Lynch all endured gruelling interviews to receive offers from Cambridge University.

Eve, 17, received an offer to study English literature at Selwyn College, Megan, 18, was made an offer to study maths at Homerton College, while Evan, 17, is set to study natural sciences at Christ’s College.

Megan said: “I’m really pleased that we have received offers from such an outstanding university. We’re all really happy for each other, but are aware that the hard work starts now to achieve our grades.

“I’m studying 5 A level subjects and rely heavily on support from all my teachers, who have made a massive contribution to my success.”

All three students must now pass their A levels with flying colours to take up their places.

Simon Hall, director of post-16 education at St Wilfrid’s, said: “We are incredibly proud of Eve, Megan and Evan. They are outstanding students and really deserve to receive their offers. Their dedication and commitment to their studies is quite exceptional and they encourage others to follow suit.

“They are three of the most pleasant students you could ever wish to meet and a real credit to themselves, their parents and the college.

“I am confident they will achieve their target grades and progress to Cambridge University.”
